Gruis Recreation Area, "The Barn", is a Public, 9 hole golf course located in Buffalo Center, Iowa.

The course opened in 1976.

The course is flat with wide-open fairways and fast greens. Water hazards come into play on four holes. 

Par for the course is 36. From the back tees, the course plays to 3,230 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 2,839 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 4, a par-5 that plays to 542 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 6, a par-3 that plays to 130 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 4, a 542 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 6, a 130 yard par-3.
